Gholamreza Derikund, the chargé d’affaires of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s embassy in Austria, has requested asylum in Switzerland after leaving his post. According to Iran International’s findings, the Islamic Republic’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has remained silent on the issue due to concerns about the loss of other troops.
Earlier, during the Iranian National Revolution, Alireza Jairani, the Islamic Republic’s senior diplomat at the UN’s European headquarters in Geneva, had also requested asylum.
