The Russian Navy released video footage on Wednesday showing one of its warships docking in an Iranian port ahead of a joint exercise. “The Baltic Fleet’s corvette Stoikiy and the Iranian Navy’s frigate Alvand, corvette Shahid Sayed Shirazi, and missile boat Neyzeh, conducted the Passex naval exercise in the Gulf of Oman,” said the Baltic Fleet’s press service.
According to Associated Press on Tuesday, Iran said it temporarily closed parts of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most crucial shipping lanes, for a military drill and missile test. The narrow passage connecting the Persian Gulf to the outside world is the route for a fifth of the world’s oil supplies. The extent and impact of the closure were not immediately clear. The closure was a signal from Iran of the potential fallout to the world economy if the United States goes through with threats to attack it as tensions mount between the two countries. http://youtube.com/kanal13az/join – click here and support Kanal13 monthly for distributing more videos and independent journalism
