The Era of Mohammad Reza Shahi; Khomeini’s Misfortune and the Assassination of the Shah
With the announcement of the six-article charter of the revolution of the Shah and the people, and especially the first principle, land reforms and the abolition of the lord-serf regime, and its fifth principle, or the amendment of the country’s electoral law to give all Iranians, both men and women, the right to vote under equal legal, social, and political conditions, the Islamists, who considered these principles to be against Sharia, along with a cleric named Ruhollah Khomeini, called the Bahman 6 referendum an act against God, a wrong and criminal act.
