Another round of mediated talks aimed at bringing the temperature down between the U.S. and Iran ended Thursday without a breakthrough, as the U.S. continues its military buildup in the region. Just before the talks ended in Geneva, Switzerland, Iranian state television reported that Tehran is determined to continue enriching uranium and is fighting for sanctions to be lifted.
A report from the media outlet Axios suggested White House envoys were “disappointed” with what they heard from Iranians in morning negotiations. As Reggie Cecchini reports, it’s unclear where things now stand amid the looming threat of war.
