Conservative MP grills Liberal safety minister on deportations of Iranian regime officials

Conservative MP Michelle Rempel Garner grilled the Liberal Minister of Public Safety, Gary Anandasangaree, on Monday on the presence of 700 Iranian regime officials reportedly living in Canada. Garner urged the liberals to provide an explanation as to why hundreds of Iranian operatives, who are part of a designated terrorist organization, haven’t been deported. “The CBSA is working to ensure that those who are inadmissible to Canada, who are members of the IRGC, who have held ranks within the IRGC are removed expeditiously.” Anandasangaree replied, “over 240 visas have been cancelled by the IRCC in anticipation that their membership In the IRG can constitute inadmissibility to Canada.” The Government of Canada listed the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Crops (IRGC) as a terrorist entity on June 19, 2024.
