Islamists across the Middle East mourned the loss of their Ayatollah, condemning actions by the U.S. and Israel, while Iranians abroad – who either fled or where exiled from their native land – celebrated the potential of new leadership and political landscape overall. Though the aim of U.S. President Donald Trump’s and Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu’s joint onslaught Saturday is clear – to pave the way for a regime change – the future of Iran and its people remains uncertain.
