Iran’s air defense forces shot down an American F-15 fighter jet over Kuwait, according to the Iranian news agency Tasnim , which also published video of the plane’s crash. According to sources, the pilots on board managed to eject and survived.
A US official confirmed that the American F-15 was shot down in Kuwait as a result of “friendly fire.” Iranian media reported that one of the American pilots was captured by Kuwaiti authorities after ejecting and was detained by local security forces immediately after landing. Meanwhile, online communities have raised doubts about the authenticity of the F-15 crash video footage. Critics note that the footage lacks the explosive detonation of the plane’s crash, which is considered unusual for such aviation incidents. The US State Department has issued an emergency warning to US citizens in Kuwait, advising them to stay away from diplomatic missions and minimize their outdoor activity. Previously, it was reported that an American MQ-9 Reaper had been shot down in the south of the country. Iran continues to strike US military targets in Qatar, the UAE, and Bahrain.
According to media reports, air raid sirens sounded across Kuwait amid the ongoing U.S.-Israeli strikes in Iran, signaling an alert status as the military responded to the threat. The U.S. Embassy in Kuwait issued an urgent advisory telling American citizens not to come to the embassy. The U.S. Department of State Consular Affairs said in a statement, “There is a continuing threat of missile and UAV attacks over Kuwait. Do not come to the Embassy. Take cover in your residence on the lowest available floor and away from windows. Do not go outside.”
