MIDDLE EAST WAR | The escalating violence in the region has left at least 14 dead in Lebanon, including four children, following recent airstrikes on several Lebanese towns. The Israeli army has confirmed the destruction of strategic Hezbollah positions in both the south of the country and the capital, where seven suburbs have been ordered to evacuate due to the intensity of the offensive.
Outside of Lebanon, Israeli forces report bombing a drone depot in western Iran. Tehran and the Lebanese militia have responded with rocket and missile fire, causing minor injuries and material damage after most were intercepted by air defenses.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guard continues its direct threats against Prime Minister Netanyahu and denies reports about the health of its supreme leader. Meanwhile, the focus of the conflict is shifting to the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic area that Washington is seeking to secure with the support of warships deployed by various international allies.
The United Kingdom, Japan, and South Korea are considering joining the proposal to guarantee security in this vital maritime passage. At the same time, Iranian attacks are hitting residential areas in Iraqi Kurdistan, affecting civilian areas far removed from military targets, according to local residents.
