Qatar’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed Al-Ansari said Doha is seeking to strengthen defence partnerships, particularly with the United States, after recent Iranian missile and drone strikes on Qatari territory. Speaking in Doha, he said attacks on energy facilities and civilian infrastructure pose serious risks to regional stability and global markets. Qatar, which hosts the major U.S. military hub Al Udeid Air Base, warned that targeting vital infrastructure and maritime routes near the Strait of Hormuz could trigger global economic repercussions. Al-Ansari urged an immediate halt to attacks and stressed that the conflict must ultimately be resolved through negotiations to ensure regional and international security.
