Multiple ships have been targeted in the Gulf, including two tankers that have been set ablaze in Iraqi waters after strikes by Iranian boats. Multiple Gulf states have reportedly intercepted Iranian missiles and drones with multiple explosions heard in Tehran, Beirut and UAE. Abdulla Banndar Al-Etaibi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of International Affairs at the College of Arts and Sciences at Qatar University and he told The World’s Girish Sawlani the developing situation in the gulf regions is concerning, especially trying to weaponise of the Strait of Hormuz.
