The U.S. sank an Iranian warship in international waters, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said Wednesday. The Iranian vessel sunk in the Indian Ocean was the Islamic Republic’s “prize ship,” Hegseth said. It was one of the few instances of a submarine sinking a ship since World War II. Lawmakers in the U.S. Senate were set to begin voting on Wednesday on a bipartisan war powers resolution aiming to stop the military campaign against Iran and require that any hostilities against it be authorized by Congress.
