Iranians living in London have been holding a memorial service to commemorate the victims since 28th of Bahman 1404, coinciding with the Fourth Day of the January 2026 protests. In the Golders Green neighborhood, they installed the immortal images of the national revolution, the Lion and the Sun, on the wall that belongs to the memorial for the Jewish hostages and victims of the 7th October Hamas attack, and named it the “Wall of Eternal Homeland Memorial.”
Over the past three weeks, a number of Iranians have prepared these images with their own money and effort, and other Iranians have been attending this place every day, as is their tradition, to lay flowers, light candles, and distribute charity.
According to reports, during the January 2026 protests, and specifically on 8th and 9th of January, when millions of people took to the streets in various cities of Iran in response to the call of Prince Reza Pahlavi, the Islamic Republic carried out the largest state massacre in Iran’s history and subjected thousands of people to armed repression.
Although the Islamic Republic has repressed Iranian citizens in various ways over the past four decades, with the bloody massacre of December 2025, it has topped the list of the most repressive governments in the world.
