The Israeli military says its fighter jets struck the headquarters of Iran’s ruling leadership in Tehran during overnight airstrikes. According to Israeli army spokesperson Effie Defrin, multiple targets linked to the Iranian leadership were hit as part of Israel’s expanding campaign against Iran.
Israel also reported that around 50 warplanes targeted a bunker beneath a compound previously linked to the late Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. The strikes come amid a widening conflict involving Israel and Iranian-backed groups, with Israeli forces also striking positions in Beirut, Lebanon. Meanwhile, Donald Trump demanded Iran’s “unconditional surrender,” raising fears of further escalation in the Middle East war.
