Labor has approved the release of a portion of its emergency fuel reserves. 762 million litres of petrol and diesel are expected to flow into the market as soon as Tuesday. The government approved the release of 20 per cent of the country’s baseline minimum storage obligations. The announcement coincides with the consumer watchdog launching an investigation into whether retailers were too quick to raise fuel prices.
