Today, he warned that “a whole civilisation will die tonight, never to be brought back again”. Trump has set a deadline of midnight GMT to reopen the Strait, or civilian infrastructure, including bridges and power plants, would be targeted. While Trump appears to be threatening genocide to open a trade route that was only closed after he started the war, the Israeli army has told Iranians to stay away from the railways. It comes as the US and Israel hit railways, bridges, the oil hub Kharg Island, and a third petrochemical complex. Meanwhile, the Revolutionary Guards warned Iran’s neighbours that any previous restraint is over, and threatened to disrupt regional oil and gas supplies for years.
