IRAN released a chilling map showing how tankers can weave through deadly sea mines dotted throughout the Strait of Hormuz. It comes after Tehran slapped a $2million (£1.5million) toll on each oil tanker passing through the vital trade route. Dubbed the ‘Tehran Tollbooth’ each ship must complete a complex and expensive process to be allowed through the strait. But even then, vessels face a hidden network of Maham 3 and Maham 7 limpet mines which have been poured into the waterway since the start of the conflict. Any ship crossing can trigger one of the explosives and be blown to pieces. Iranians released a map to help ship captains navigate the death trap.
