Peace talks between the United States and Iran are underway in Pakistan. According to Iranian state TV, two rounds of talks have taken place, with a third expected tonight or Sunday. The White House has confirmed that the two sides, along with their Pakistani hosts, are meeting face-to-face in Islamabad. They aim to convert a two-week ceasefire into a more durable peace agreement. This comes as the US military says two of its warships have passed through the Strait of Hormuz. Three supertankers — two of them Chinese-flagged — appear to have been the first oil-carrying ships to leave the Persian Gulf since the ceasefire began on Wednesday.
