The United States and Iran have intensified their war of words as a fragile ceasefire expires, with each side outbidding the other ahead of a second attempt to reach a peace agreement, CNBC reports.
Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf appeared to harden his rhetoric in a social media post Tuesday, criticizing US President Donald Trump for “imposing a siege and violating the ceasefire,” and for seeking to turn negotiations into “a surrender table or justify a further escalation of the war.”
