‘Bare bones’: US-Iran framework deal leaves nuclear issue unresolved

Former US special envoy for Israel-Palestine Frank Lowenstein weighed in on the reported agreement between the US and Iran. “Iran’s agreed to open up the Strait of Hormuz and the US has agreed to end the naval blockade of Iranian ports, so right there it will ease up the global economy,” Mr Lowenstein told Sky News Australia. “It’s a very bare bones agreement that’s basically all it will do, and so there’s a lot of the main issues that still need to be negotiated in what’s going to be about a 60-day negotiating period.”
