MS NOWThe United States has launched major strikes against Iran after the country fired ballistic missiles at U.S. forces in Jordan. President Trump promised retaliation after the attack by Tehran, saying quote, “we’re going to be hitting them very hard, because it’s our turn.” The strikes come as the war enters its sixth month and amid reports that Trump has become increasingly “exasperated” by the length of the conflict and Iran’s refusal to reach a deal.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia has joined U.S. operations with strikes on Iran-backed groups in Iraq. Saudi Arabia accused Iranian-backed militias of attacking Saudi oil facilities, but so far, no group has claimed responsibility. And in Egypt, two ships caught fire in an explosion at a port in an incident one maritime security firm says may have been a drone attack, though that has not been confirmed.
