The first set of ground troops has arrived in the Middle East, and more are on the way. According to Central Command, 2,500 Marines who were previously stationed in Okinawa, Japan, arrived on Friday. U.S. Marines from San Diego and about 2,000 troops from the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Division are also heading for the Middle East. The Department of Defense says it’s considering deploying 10,000 more ground troops.
