Iran claims it will completely close the Strait of Hormuz and widely attack energy infrastructure if US President Donald Trump follows through on threats to target Iranian energy sites. Yesterday, Mr Trump threatened to “obliterate” Iran’s power plants if Tehran does not fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours. Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian has responded on X, saying, “the illusion of erasing Iran from the map shows desperation against the will of a history-making nation”. “Threats and terror only strengthen our unity,” Mr Pezeshkian said.
