Donald Trump has hailed “regime change” in Iran and vowed to seize all nuclear material in the country – as the first ships pass through the Strait of Hormuz. It comes after the US president agreed to a ten-point plan to stop the war in the Middle East at the 11th hour. In a post on Truth Social, Trump said: “The United States will work closely with Iran, which we have determined has gone through what will be a very productive Regime Change! At a Pentagon news conference US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth said that the ceasefire offers a chance at “real peace and a real deal”. But vice-president JD Vance admitted the ceasefire is “fragile” and accused some inside the Islamic Republic of lying about its terms.
