Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh said on Thursday the Strait of Hormuz remained open but all vessels must coordinate with Iran’s military to pass through, citing wartime restrictions. Khatibzadeh said technical limitations linked to the conflict made coordination with Iranian authorities necessary for safe passage through the narrow waterway, which he said is within Iranian and Omani territorial waters.
