Former White House press secretary Sean Spicer believes Gulf allies may privately want Donald Trump to continue military action against Iran despite public calls for peace. US President Donald Trump claims he planned to start bombing Iran again, but he’s called it off at the last moment, claiming his Gulf allies told him a peace deal was being negotiated. “I actually think the Gulf states want him to continue this to some degree,” Mr Spicer told Sky News host Andrew Bolt. “If they’re confirming this, I actually think that’s a positive sign because you saw some of those GCC nations argue for a while that they really want him to finish the job. “I was a little sceptical when I saw that statement come out. “I’m a strong advocate of him continuing the military strikes. I think that’s the only thing that Iran will respect.”
