New reporting has revealed why exiled underworld figure Kazem “Kaz” Hamad allegedly ordered the firebombing of a Melbourne synagogue. The Age says Hamad planned the 2024 attack on the Adass Israel Synagogue for Iran in exchange for being allowed to run a transnational crime syndicate from the country. Hamad has since been arrested in Iraq on drug‑trafficking charges. The notorious crime boss is now accused of directing the synagogue firebombing plot.
