U.S. lawmakers have grilled Secretary of State Marco Rubio in his first testimony since the Iran war, which has been in a fragile ceasefire for several weeks.
There has been no permanent peace deal reached since the truce began, which has led to increased international fuel prices because of the Strait of Hormuz’s effective closure. “You ultimately are negotiating with people who then have to negotiate within their own system to see what they’re allowed to give and what they’re allowed to agree to,” Rubio said.
