Donald Trump says Iran keeps playing them for “suckers” after Iran retaliated against US attacks, which were themselves a retaliation, with attempted strikes on US bases in Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan. In a bid to assist peace talks between Iran and the US, Qatar has sent a negotiating team to Tehran. They are there reportedly in consultation with the US. It comes as Trump threatened to “hit” Iran “very hard” if a peace deal is not secured.
