President Trump is now standing down from threats of a major new escalation of his war in Iran. This comes days after Trump convened his cabinet at Camp David under pressure from the ongoing war and in the face of plenty of harsh realities. Despite the about face, the war is increasingly unpopular, which is adding to voter anger amid the ongoing affordability crisis and renewed fears about inflation ahead of the midterm elections.
