Trump ‘low-keying it’ with Iran, shifts to economic pressure

President Trump is now signaling an emphasis on economic pressure on Iran, as opposed to ordering a new military offensive, as the war continues into its sixth month. The president told AXIOS yesterday quote, “We are low keying it. We are only semi-negotiating with them. We are just watching Iran with its huge inflation and the fact they have no money.” Trump’s comments come amid a new, sweeping list of demands from Tehran on reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
