Various foreign ministers at a G7 meeting in France accused Russia of helping Iran target U.S. forces in the Middle East war on Thursday. “We are raising this issue that we see that Russia is helping Iran with intelligence to target Americans, to kill Americans,” European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas told reporters on Friday. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov denied that Moscow was providing intelligence to help Iran target U.S. forces in the Middle East, labelling the accusations as “rumours.” According to Reuters, western security sources and a regional official close to Tehran suggested Moscow has been providing satellite imagery and helped Iran upgrade its drones to emulate the equivalent variations used by Russia against Ukraine.
