Pentagon seeks over $US200 billion for Iran war as Trump meets Japanese PM

The Pentagon is seeking an additional $US200 billion from Congress to fund the war in Iran. Donald Trump says the cash injection is necessary, as Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth warns there is no “timeframe” for ending. Meanwhile the US President has met with Japan’s Prime Minister as Tokyo reaffirms its commitment to ensure a safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz.
