Iranian authorities have reached out to Oman to establish a system to toll ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, as Tehran continues to defy pressure from US President Donald Trump to unblock of the crucial shipping route. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps says it is only banning US and Israel-linked ships from passing through, as Philippine, Japanese and Chinese cargo vessels have gained passage. ANU defence and security expert Jennifer Parker says many shipping companies are still reluctant to use the passage.
