Iranian-Canadians from Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal marched from the U.S. Embassy along Wellington Street to Parliament Hill, calling for an end to Iran’s ongoing internet blackout and demanding the U.S. reject the Islamic Republic in favour of recognizing Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi as a transitional leader. CTV’s Kimberley Johnson reports that the rally was led by Cyrus-the-Great Ottawa, with co-organizer Soorena Noori saying the regime does not represent the Iranian people. Conservative MP Shuvaloy Majumdar of Calgary Heritage also spoke at the event. Iran’s internet blackout, the longest nationwide shutdown on record according to experts, has been in place since February 28th.
