A number of Iranians living in the UK marched to the Prime Minister’s Office on Sunday, Khordad 23, 1405, after a rally in front of the BBC building in London. The event was held to criticize the approaches of the global media and their indifference to the conditions of the Iranian people.
Iranians opposed to the Islamic Republic, from both republican and monarchist sides, raised six central demands in the rally in front of the BBC building in London: an end to repression, cutting the regime’s budget, freedom of the internet, the expulsion of the regime’s diplomats, the release of political prisoners and the prevention of executions, and the recognition of the chosen alternative of the transition period.
Despite the unprecedented heat, the attendees marched to the Prime Minister’s Office at 2:30 PM and, by chanting critical slogans directed at the British government, Prime Minister Starmer, and especially the BBC and the British national media, drew the attention of public opinion and passers-by on the street to the freedom struggles of the Iranian people.
