US President Donald Trump claims to have cancelled scheduled attacks on Iran, saying Persian Gulf leaders advised him that a deal could be made including no nuclear weapons for Tehran.
The US leader posted on Truth Social that he accepted a postponement request from the Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud and UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. It would be unusual for any US military action to proceed without Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth in the situation room in Washington as he is currently campaigning in Kentucky.
