US President Donald Trump claims a ceasefire agreement between the US and Iran is being finalised, after his discussions with Gulf state leaders and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The US leader says the terms of a memorandum of understanding including the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz have been ‘largely negotiated’. Senior Iran analyst Omid Memarian says the move is a creative way to resolve differences by possibly extending the ceasefire by another 60 days, despite the fact that it will not be a final deal.
