U.S. Central Command says a U.S. service member was killed on Saturday in Iraq during a controlled detonation of a downed Iranian drone. It follows the deaths of at least two American soldiers in an earlier Iranian attack on a military facility in Jordan.
A second service member was wounded in the blast and is receiving medical treatment for minor injuries.
The U.S. military has launched additional airstrikes against Iran in response. Global’s Vincent McAviney is following the developments.
